GLOBAL TEMPERATURE
GLOBAL TEMPERATURE

On Christmas Day the earth reached the expected minimum temperature a week early.

The northern hemisphere is 68% of the earths land. This land in the northern hemisphere is 40% covered in snow. As the sun is 23°S of the equator making nights longer. The suns distance is at its closest to earth. So earth is recieving the maximum energy from the sun.

As the sun heats the southern hemisphere (32% land and 68% ocean), cooling in the northern hemisphere is much faster than ocean heating in the southern hemispshere.

Northern hemisphere in 90 days fell by 8°C as 35 million km² of snow covered the land (above 5 million in Sept).

Southern hemisphere temperature rose by 4°C, reducing earth's temperature by 4°C (half of the northern hemispheres fall). This is as expected.
