Grok Climate Debate

Over the last months I have had debates with X's Grok, where I have engaged in a real debate about how the climate works. This is where people can learn and judge the differences in what was being said.

Contentious Issues

The temperature profile of the atmosphere that is publicly available to average across latitudes and longitudes over an entire year is 278.3K to 207K.

This issue of different temperature profiles comes down to method differences. Averaging all the temperatures at each latitude and longitude for the whole planet is not acceptable to established science.

Quote from Grok:

"Cosine weighting adjusts global temperature averages by latitude to account for larger polar grid cells".

This is due to earths radius being smaller towards the pole, a cosine value 1-0, is applied at each 10th latitude. As 60 degree latitude area is 50% smaller.

Average temperature -66 degrees at around 104 watts or 207K is shown above in temperature profile, but grok insists that 100w-m2 is reflected and 77w-m2 is part of the 240w-m2. Reflected usually means observed as not thermalised(not absorbed at all). In the above image the temperature above 11km goes up to 240K (-13C). This is observed at the polar regions when sunlight is 24 hrs after a certain period (during period sun is above 20°S).

This graphic shows the latitudes, cosine adjustment and the represented area.

The top of the atmosphere has heat but the contentious part is how much. Mentioned above.

All the summed up areas equal the total area of the earth.

Temperature in kelvin is to the power 4 when converting to irradiance using the Stefan Boltzmann constant.

The column K²K² shows the temperature power by 4 values 1E+9 digits.

In the tropics the expanded atmosphere top has temperatures close to what is observed. So the K²K²/area column divides the K²K² 6E+9 digits by area (cos x Radius squared) giving the emission potential close to what is observed above the tropopause. Showing the global mean solar heat (340w-m2) escaping. The total heat 440w-m2 in the tropics is transported to the poles.

Temperature is the kinetic energy of molecules that stay in the atmosphere. Temperature is to the 4th power. Cosine adjusted temperature for the area where heat is transported averaged up to 80 degree latitude represents the solar temperature for the earth (5.4°C 278.3K 340.5w-m2).

What is contentious is that mainstream science apply the cosine to Celsius.

The issue with this is it raises polar temperatures which are meant to be low to release earths heat. As they are too high this makes earths temperature to high.
